Hand made from upcycled innertubes, SRAM CODE Caliper Cover.
As you'll probably already know SRAM CODE brake seems rather prone to getting very sticky pistons during the long wet wet winter months. So to help reduce caliper strip and clean time we made some prototype caliper covers from various materials. We settled on the old innertube material for the first production thanks to the upcycled material.
Designed to keep the worst of the mud and crud out of your rear brake caliper during the wettest of winter months. We also found it reduced brake squeal and intitial brake fade during the cold and wet rides (we didn't run on the front, but will this winter).
When fitting, if you don't already, then use a dab of grease on the brake pad retaining bolt thread and head, this stops the bolt gripping the rubber and twisting it as you tighten the bolt.
Please bear in mind we cut these by hand from old innertubes so the fit may not be absolutley perfect at one of the corners.
